Bad Tour Food Cooking Tips.
As many of you will probably know being on ‘the road’ can take its toll on your health. The late nights, the parties, the bad women, it all adds up and the results can be harrowing.
With this in mind it is always good to try and retain some balance in order to make your body your temple.
The simplest way to start this health programme is by eating some hot food. It is very easy to grab a cold snack on the go but believe me taking the time to prepare a hot morsel will make all the difference. However sometimes you need to get creative in order to make this happen.
The picture above shows a perfect example of how to create a hot dish without any conventional cooking appliances. Think Ray Mears but in a backstage area rather than in a jungle.
What you see is two crew members who have managed to obtain a slice of bread each by sorting through the ‘band rider’. Either one of these crew members could have selected a packet of crisps or a tesco choco caramel bar (fun size) but thankfully they kept their health in mind. After selecting this bread they realised that there was no toaster. This was a major setback but easy to overcome with a bit of lateral thinking. Therefore instead of using a toaster the pair implemented a wall heater. Please note that this is a bar heater and therefore provides some aspect of grilling. Do not attempt to use a radiator as the results will not be of the same fantastic quality.
Ultimately by holding the bread, as exhibited, up to the bar heater, the crew members were able to toast their slices and provide themselves with some hot, crunchy nourishment.
This technique also works well for cheese on toast (providing you have cheese slices at your disposal) and if you are a more experienced cook you may even be able to create a toasted sandwich.
Bon Appetite!
